British Gymnastics is an inclusive and forward-thinking sport with big aspirations, undergoing an exciting period of transformation. Following the Whyte Review and our comprehensive Reform 25 initiative, we are now embracing our new vision: Leap Without Limits. This is more than just a vision—it is a cultural shift towards providing an Uplifting Experience for All. We recognize the profound impact gymnastics can have on individuals, communities, and society, and are committed to putting positive experiences at the heart of our sport.
At the heart of the new ambition is to harness the power of gymnastics to change lives, enrich and connect communities, building on the aspirations and inspiration the sport provides. Gymnastics recognises the key role it can play in being a foundation sport, developing balance, strength and coordination. Along with confidence building and character skills and creating life long positive experience.

Why British Gymnastics is supporting Boardroom Apprentice
Our core values for gymnastics are
People, Engaged, Accountable and Leadership, with one of our overarching message, to provide an uplifting experience for all, within the sport.
Our new vision is shaped by the voices of our community, and we are committed to embedding Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) into everything we do. With a new EDI Lead, (an Alumni of The Boardroom Apprentice) we aspire to build a more diverse workforce and welcome a broader range of participants into our sport. We have a diverse and inclusive board who are strong advocates for this initiatives. The Boardroom Apprentice Scheme is a key action of Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan, supporting not only wider societal change but also the development of future leaders within British Gymnastics.
As we compete globally in various disciplines, our commitment to inclusion is stronger than ever. We are also working towards becoming a Paralympic sport in the Artistic Gymnastics discipline, further developing Disability Gymnastics programs and emphasizing our dedication to increasing participation, making gymnastics more accessible and raising the profile of this sport and it’s accessibility and adaptability.
Joining British Gymnastics as a Board Room Apprentice offers the unique opportunity to contribute to a sport that is passionate about change, leadership development, and making a positive difference in the lives of our 350,000 members and wider society and play a key role in our Gymnastic accessibility policies and our Paralympic bid journey. Which will see apprenticeship applicants developing key skills in governance and leadership.
Gymnastics board is fully embedded in the business, where they are invited to staff training and CPD, committee meetings, Employee networks and resource groups, including EmbRACE (our Race Staff Network), Trans Inclusion Policy Working Group along with option to attend various Gymnastic Events. A really exciting board to be a part of.
