NIHE is a non-departmental public body, sponsored by the Department for Communities and is the statutory housing authority in Northern Ireland. NIHE is one of the largest social landlords in the United Kingdom with approximately 85,000 tenants.

Why the Northern Ireland Housing Executive is supporting Boardroom Apprentice
NIHE is currently a host board and the programme has proved to be successful. It is excellent opportunity for apprentices to gain insight to the Board of a large public sector organisation.
Location of Board and Committee Meetings
Boardroom, The Housing Centre, 2 Adelaide Street, Belfast, BT2 8PB (unless specified otherwise)
Frequency and timing of board/committee meetings
Board meetings are usually held bimonthly and are approximately scheduled from 9.30am – 1pm. Most Committee meetings (outlined below) are held bimonthly. Asset Management & Maintenance Committee is usually 10am – 12.30pm, Resources & Performance Committee is usually 2 – 4pm and Tenant & Customer Services Is usually 9.30 – 11.30am. Audit, Risk & Assurance Committee meetings are usually held quarterly from 1 – 3pm.
However additional special Board and Committee meetings are scheduled ad hoc.
