NI Police Fund is a Statutory Body under the Department of Justice. The Fund was established in 2003 as Part of the Patten Report on Policing. The Fund provides financial support to police officers and their dependants where the officer has been murdered of injured by direct terrorist action. The Fund has a Board of seven appointed by the Minister for Justice.
