The Charity Commission for Northern Ireland is the independent regulator of charities in Northern Ireland, responsible for ensuring Northern Ireland has a dynamic and well governed charities sector in which the public can have confidence. This means it is our job to make sure charities are meeting their legal requirements and to work with charity trustees to put things right if they go wrong. In doing so, the Commission plays a crucial role in the development of charities, enabling them to meet modern expectations and obligations. The Commission is a non-departmental public body (NDPB) and is sponsored by the Department for Communities.

Why The Charity Commission for Northern Ireland is supporting Boardroom Apprentice

We are a regulator whose business is governance. We believe that diverse boards have an important role to play on good governance. This will be our 5th year in participating in the scheme and we have both enjoyed and benefited from the opportunity to host apprentices and participate in the training.
